Teams
The Skating Club of Houston currently implements two different team programs.
Theatre On Ice (TOI) is a form of competitive figure skating that is popular in Europe, where it is known as Ballet on Ice. It combines the grace of figure skating with the excitement of theater and dance. Teams consist of between eight and 30 skaters. Solo skating is discouraged, but is permitted in limited amounts if it enhances the overall telling of the program's story. The programs are judged by regular U.S. Figure Skating judges and are evaluated on technical merit and presentation with emphasis on originality, costuming, artistry and musicality.

Synchronized skating is compromised of 8-16 skaters of all ages and levels from Basic Skills through Senior level, and also offers Collegiate opportunities. Skaters MIF level is what determines their level. Skaters learn and perform connected the 5 basic elements (circle, line, wheel, intersection and block) in the developmental levels, and higher level teams compete under the IJS judging system. Houston Elite currently has Preliminary, Open Juv and Novice levels in USFS. These levels change based on interest. Our competition season is Sept-Jan. But, we skate year round with workshops and are continuously recruiting! We would love to meet you!
